JAKARTA, October 15, 2026 – PT Daikin Applied Solutions Indonesia (DASI), in collaboration with the National Cardiovascular Center Harapan Kita Hospital, held a workshop titled Hospital HVAC Systems: Integrating Regulations, Infection Control, and Technical Reliability. Attended by participants from various hospitals across Indonesia, the workshop explored the management of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems in healthcare facilities, covering system design, infection control, energy efficiency, and environmental condition monitoring in critical areas.
In hospital HVAC systems, the Air Handling Unit (AHU) plays an essential role in treating and supplying air according to the requirements of each space. Its application requires careful consideration of room functions, airflow requirements, temperature and humidity control, as well as applicable technical standards. In critical areas such as operating rooms (OR) and Catheterization Laboratories (Cathlabs), proper HVAC system planning and management are essential to maintaining the environmental conditions required for healthcare operations.
Regulatory compliance and infection control were among the key topics discussed during the workshop. Annisa Dea Sari, S.Kep., Ners., MKM, presented an overview of hospital HVAC systems in critical areas in accordance with applicable regulations. Meanwhile, dr. Lilik Indrawati, Sp.PK., Subsp.P.I.(K), discussed the role of HVAC systems in infection prevention and control in operating rooms and Cathlabs.
From the planning and implementation perspective, Dr. dr. Hananto Andriantoro, Sp.JP(K)., M.A.R.S., delivered a presentation on product design planning and installation implementation. This discussion highlighted the importance of proper HVAC system planning, including the selection and application of AHUs based on room functions and hospital operational requirements. M. Syarif, DASI Academy Manager, also shared insights into energy efficiency in HVAC system management for healthcare facilities.
Operational management and environmental monitoring were also covered during the workshop. Candra Jepi Destriawan, ST, and Sacca Asdinuari, Amd, discussed utility management policies at the National Cardiovascular Center Harapan Kita Hospital, along with temperature and humidity monitoring in Cathlab areas. Dr. Astrid Paramita presented the implementation of temperature and humidity monitoring systems in critical areas. These parameters are important considerations in managing hospital HVAC systems, including AHUs, to meet the specific requirements of each space.
The workshop also addressed HVAC system challenges, Chiller Sequencing, and Building Automation Systems (BAS). In hospital facility management, coordination between air handling equipment, cooling systems, and building automation is an important consideration in supporting the integrated operation of HVAC systems.
Through this workshop, DASI and the National Cardiovascular Center Harapan Kita Hospital provided a platform for knowledge sharing on hospital HVAC system requirements. The discussions covered regulatory compliance, technical planning, environmental condition control, and energy efficiency, all of which are essential considerations in managing HVAC systems in healthcare facilities.
DASI extends its appreciation to the National Cardiovascular Center Harapan Kita Hospital, all speakers, and participants from hospitals across Indonesia for their valuable contributions and active participation in the workshop.
